Ibadan laywer who murdered husband-Police vows to ensure justice is served

The police in Oyo State have said they will ensure that justice is served in the death of a man, Lowo Oyediran, who was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife, a lawyer at the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), Ministry of Justice.

This comes as the deceased’s family, at the weekend, raised doubts over the ability of law enforcement agents to ensure fairness and justice in the case.A relative, who pleaded for anonymity, expressed fears that the victim may not get justice because of the suspect’s status in the ministry.

In response,Police spokesperson Adekunle Ajisebutu said

“How can someone say that? The police are on top of the case and let me tell you that nobody, no matter how highly placed, is above the law.
“The law is no respecter of person. I can assure you that in this case the law will run its course unhindered. “
The late Oyediran, was allegedly stabbed twice on Tuesday morning at their home in Ibadan.
The victim, after the initial treatment, was brought back home by some neighbours, including his landlord, who waded into the disagreement between him and his wife.
After everyone had gone to bed, his wife allegedly stabbed him again in the neck while he was asleep.
