Tanzanian church bans Man United jerseys

Parokia Ya MT. Martin Wa Porres forbids congregation from wearing the Premier League giants’ jerseys to church services. Photo: Man. UnitedMM A church in Tanzania, Parokia Ya MT. Martin Wa Porres seems to have something serious against Manchester United Football Club as the religious centre has banned its congregation from wearing the Premier League giants’ jerseys to church services.

On the church’s signboard on which a large notice is drawn for their male and female members and forbidding them from spotting some outfits to church, an art drawing of Manchester United jerseys with the logo of the club’s former sponsor, AON is added.

Other practices that the worship centre does not want its members to indulge in are tattoos, the mohawk hair style, mini skirt, armless dress among others are also listed as prohibited. Parokia Ya MT.

Martin Wa Porres is located in Mwananyamala , an administrative ward in the Kinondoni district of the Dar es Salaam Region of Tanzania and the grouse with Manchester United might not be unconnected with the ‘Red Devils’ pseudonym of the club. See photo below:
