Hello guys, Bleech met with the President of Urban and Regional Planning Department Com. Kehinde Adelakun and he spoke to us about his achievements and regrets as President. Enjoy.
Keneto"I really want to thank God for his supports in my administration, there have been a lot of challenges, since day one of the administration but God has been with us. In my tenure as the President of the department, I have learned a lot of lessons, I have also learned to deal with false allegations and betrayal; I have learned to deal with fake friends. I have also learned to shun critics because I have come to discover that whatever you do, people will talk, they said all manners of things about me, some said am an hypocrite, some said I embezzled funds, others said that I was too gentle to lead, some even called me a dummy.
Some of these analyses might be true, some out of envy or jealousy, others out of ignorance, am not saying am perfect, I know I have made my mistakes but let’s always try to celebrate our fore runners in every way we can, instead of beefing and castigating them with every little chance we have, every decision I took, was in the best interest of the association.
In the past four months we have been able to achieve these feats:
1. Repairing of the Locks,
2. Departmental Banners,
3. Notice Board,
4. Provision of the Public Address System
5. Orientation,
6. Successful outcomes of the tutorials,
7. Provision of Pack markers to each levels,
8. Provision of Souvenirs,
9. 1st external debate with FUTA,
10. 1st external football match with OAU
11. Inter Level Competitions
12. Awareness and Exhibition,
13. 1st National Conference with UNIOSUN coming 2nd in the Debate competition
14. Public Lecture
15. Award & Exhibition Night
All these feats were achieved in four months, and with the resources of last year administration, so we will like to correct the notion that we made use of the resources of two year administration, because as at now about only 20% of the students have paid their levies, in which we have been banned from spending out of those resources. Despite the heat and the pressure we sacrificed ourselves, our time, our money, our sleep, our esteem, our comfort, our reputation, even our ties with colleagues to make these a reality; we risked a lot and even had to bend rules, whereas ironically all we got was criticism and false accusations. Only God can reward a man, so I leave everything to him.
I will also want to thank the students for their support, during our administration; we sincerely apologize for any discomfort we might have caused, especially for our shortcomings in our recent dinner. For those who are talking about me, please don’t lose pace, keep on talking, it’s obvious I am a celeb and to the HRM students criticizing me, I say go to hell!

I will sincerely like to take the blame for every loopholes and weakness of any of the executives, we are all students and we will get there. Special thanks goes to the department, the H.O.D, the secretary, and all our lecturers that supported us in the course of my tenure, God bless them.
To my executives, God bless you all, you are the best and I believe with time, we will be refined to the kind of Leader Nigeria needs, not the kind of Leader Nigeria wants. Show love to someone, encourage one another, forgive and forget, fall in love, stop the beef, its exam time, conduct tutorials, help a colleague who is in need. In that way we will create a healthy environment which will inspire and energize us to do well in our upcoming exams. URPSA oooo ni baje ooo!!!"
