Anwuli: Thanks so much dear

TILB: Its gonna be a little awkward cos I will start by making a little confession. I have been crushing on you since time immemorial

Anwuli: Oh wow(Laughs)

TILB: Its kinda strange but true. anyway, that's gonna be gist for another day. So down to business. please tell Lailans who Anwuli Oputa is
Anwuli: My name is Anwuli Oputa and I am from Imo state, Oguta. I have siblings but they reside in Nigeria. Currently, I reside in the U.S.

TILB: So what does Anwuli do for a living?
Anwuli: I work as a caterer in a restaurant and I am so thinking of delving into social work.

TILB: what informed your decision to live and work in the US?
Anwuli: I migrated to the U.S. because I had an accident in Nigeria on my right leg. So I came to the U.S. on medical visit only. After I had my surgery my mother changed her mind that we were going to stay in the U.S. because of the numerous opportunities the U.S. offered. That was in April 1999 so basically we have stayed in the U.S. for 15 years.

TILB: Wow !!! so sorry to hear about the accident. What was ur most challenging experience as a emigrant living in a foreign land
Anwuli: Thanks so much dear I appreciate. The most challenging experience for me living in a foreign land was the cultural change, I was a novice in the U.S. so coming here at an early age was difficult.

TILB: Can you please tell us about a certain remarkable scenario or occurrence when the challenging cultural deference was highlighted
Anwuli: The first time I got enrolled in elementary school it was so difficult to interact with my peers.

TILB: Did you feel alone, inferior or out of place?
Anwuli: Absolutely correct dear I felt out of place and so lonely.

TILB: what has changed about you over the years?
Anwuli: I have become more assertive and sociable.

TILB: that's lovely. So please tell us, Why are you always so calm? even on the blog, you have the quiet girl reputation. whats the secret?
Anwuli: My upbringing from my mom o I give her credit for that o. My mom's discipline shaped me into the woman I am today. As well as baba God playing an integral part in my life.

TILB: what is the craziest thing you have ever done?
Anwuli: (Laughs) I went swimming on a school outing when I knew I couldn't swim. Trying to prove myself in front of friends chai na who send me o lol.

TILB: Haha, please tell me more.what really happened
Anwuli: My friends then were really psyching me to the jump into the pool I was apprehensive. Oya now so I jumped and screamed as if I knew what I was doing. I went in the deep end of the pool almost drowned chai.

TILB: so who saved the day? how did u get out?
Anwuli: My best friend Hannah back then came and rescued me, and she enlisted other people to rescue me as well. Ever since she rescued me I was indebted to her from that day. Our friendship was so strong I really miss her so much.
